Avocado & Spice Notebook Re-brand

Brief

We were approached by the team at Avocado & Spice to create an engaging new brand identity which not only embodies the style and quality of their premium journals, but speaks to their eco brand values. 

Solution

Using the new brand as a basis, we designed and developed a slick, eCommerce focused website which echos the brand’s sustainable values. Bold lines match the geometric designs of the journals, while animal footprints scattered throughout the website offer the user an almost tangible path to checkout.

We were approached by the team at Avocado & Spice to create an engaging new brand identity which not only embodies the style and quality of their premium journals, but speaks to their eco brand values. 

Sustainability sits at the heart of Avocado & Spice - the materials they use are vegan, and are sourced from green factories where water and air emissions are strictly controlled, too. 

The evolved identity was inspired by the geometric animals which inspire each of the Avocado & Spice journals, with the colour palette rooted in warm, earthy tones to compliment the brand’s natural aesthetic.

Using the new brand as a basis, we designed and developed a slick, eCommerce focused website which echos the brand’s sustainable values. Bold lines match the geometric designs of the journals, while animal footprints scattered throughout the website offer the user an almost tangible path to checkout.

We created several routes for the logo concepts. All possible routes are working to emphasise feelings of luxury, simple-yet-satisfying organisation, and minimalism; framing Avocado & Spice as a high end luxury brand, providing beautifully made, sustainable, organisational tools. Colours and styling throughout are working to emulate both a contemporary feel and to inspire trust within an established brand. 

The chosen route makes use of a traditional monogram, using the ‘A’ and ’S’, but combines this with the geometric styling of the A&S animal illustrations. 

The chosen typeface (Hello Galleria Sans) is minimal but uses interesting angles on some of the letterforms, giving a slight sense of movement.

By combining earthy colours with a deep, almost heritage green, the concept gives a nod to the colours of avocado and of spices, but pushes them into a luxury space. This creates a modern feel, whilst still evoking the trust and dependability of a long established brand. 

We combined the branding with photography that includes similar earthy colours and textures of leather, adding a sense of luxury travel and adventure.
